How to obtain Massachusetts Motorcycle License/Permit?
1. Do you have an active Motorcycle Learners Permit?

2. Have you proved Lawful Presence with the Massachusetts RMV yet?
(Required documents: Passport or Birth Certificate, Social Security Card (Not Laminated) or recent year W2 and two documents proving Massachusetts Residency (current license and utility bill).

3. Have you paid the Motorcycle Endorsement Fee yet?
(Three dollars for each year of your current license. For example, if your license will expire within the next three years, your Motorcycle Endorsement fee will be (3x$3.00)=$9.00.

Here is what you have to do:
- You have to go to a full service MA RMV and pass a multiple choice test. See link for locations

You do NOT have to make an appointment. The test fee is $30.00. We recommend you read
MA RMV Motorcycle Manual
before taking the test. Free DMV practice tests are also available
