As a Motorcycle Rider Education Program (MREP) Approved Motorcycle Training School, Husky Riding Academy is committed to reducing motorcycle-related fatalities and injuries in the Commonwealth.

Our mission is to provide approved rider training courses for motorcycle riders and increase awareness and education for both riders and other drivers.

Common causes of Motor Vehicle vs. Motorcycle accidents includes:

MAKING LEFT TURNS: Before turning LEFT, CHECK TWICE to ensure no motorcycle is approaching. We are conditioned to look for cars & trucks, and it is easy to overlook an oncoming motorcycle if you are not looking for one.

PULLING OUT: Before pulling out from a parked position, CHECK TWICE by turning your head & LOOKING BOTH WAYS for oncoming motorcycles. Motorcycles need more room & space to stop suddenly than a car or a truck does.

CHANGING LANES: Motorcycles can easily fit in the blind spots of your mirrors. Put your blinker on and CHECK TWICE, and turn your head to LOOK ALL WAYS to ensure there are no motorcycles in your blind spots!

SHARING A LANE: Do not share a traffic lane with a motorcycle. Even though a motorcycle is smaller than a car or truck, they are entitled to their own separate/entire lane.

DO NOT FOLLOW TO CLOSE behind a motorcycle - a motorcycle needs more room than a car or truck in order to stop. Please keep a good distance behind a motorcycle, leaving enough room for your vehicle to stop as well.
